Nigel Pollock resigns as chief executive, Quality Roading and Services

Nigel resigns April 2021 canva

Quality Roading and Services board chair Guy Gaddum has today accepted Nigel Pollock’s resignation as the company’s chief executive.

“I’m sad to announce that after four years at the helm Nigel will be leaving the company to take up an employment opportunity that was too good to ignore.”

Mr Gaddum says QRS has flourished under Nigel’s leadership and drive and he will be sorely missed by his fellow board directors and 90 staff.

Mr Pollock says the decision to leave QRS was not an easy one but he has the support of trusted colleagues and family.

“Being the chief executive of this company has been an incredible experience.”

“I’ve lived in Wairoa for nearly 20 years. It has been my absolute pleasure to be part of a team that has positioned Quality Roading and Services as a strong and successful company helping grow this community – a community I respect and care for deeply. My family and I will continue to reside in Wairoa. ”

It is the company’s expectation that a new chief executive will be found by July 2021.

Wairoa Mayor Craig Little acknowledged the work Nigel has done and what he has achieved in a short time.

“The strong position QRS is now in is a credit to Nigel, the QRS board, and staff.

“I would have liked Nigel to stay longer to consolidate more runs on the board, but I respect his decision and wish him all the best for his next position.

“Strategically, QRS is a very important company for our district, and I have confidence the QRS board will find a suitable replacement person who will continue to achieve at this level.”
