Connecting and growing our communities.
Age Concern Wairoa’s general manager Rebecca Everson says the relationship with Quality Roading and Services helps ensure older people in Wairoa are linked in with the community and feel valued and supported.
“I’m so pleased we have a local business behind us and that we can work together. It makes a huge difference to have some financial support.”
Age Concern is a charitable organisation dedicated solely to people over 55.
It promotes dignity, wellbeing, equity and respect and provides expert information and support services in response to older people's needs.
“We’re active and vocal on relevant issues and work to ensure older people stay connected with their family and whanau, friends and community,” says Ms Everson.
In Wairoa services on offer include social gatherings, exercise classes, movie evenings, educational opportunities, trips and outings, and the elder abuse response service.
Ms Everson says the Quality Roading and Services support will go towards operating costs. “When our older people are here during winter we have to keep everyone warm. Thank you to Quality Roading and Services for its help.”
